United Methodist on Third Street, 7"x5" Watercolor on 140#Arches
I rushed to get this painted today. I'm feeling guilty about not having something posted every day. I have taken lots of photos of my neighborhood for small paintings.

Another day with Susan Nicholas Gephart at Brushstrokes in Lewisburg
My stuff from the workshop.
Red Road in North Dakota, 4.5"x10" Pastel on multimedia board
Today was the last day for Susan Nicholas Gephart to conduct a pastel workshop at Brushstrokes art supply store in Lewisburg. This is from a picture I took last summer near the ND badlands.
Red Barn in Montana, 4.5"x10" Pastel on multimedia board
This was the second piece I worked on in the workshop. I took the reference picture for this while on the way to Glacier National Park.

Susan Nicholas Gephart workshop at Brushstrokes art supply store
"Wade Lake in Western Montana", 15"x9" Pastel on multimedia paper
I got into Susan's workshop by calling to see if anyone backed out at the last minute. Hooray, I got in!
I have been holding onto the photo of this scene and afraid to attempt it. Luckily, I brought it to the workshop and voila. It may not be perfect, but the study now gives me the courage to tackle the subject in a much larger format in oils. (Hope to get to this by summer.)

Grapes and Pear - served with humility
"Grapes and Pear", 5"x7" Acrylic on canvas board.
I got out the acrylics today. I am embarrassed to show how off my painting is from the photo. I took the picture after I did the painting to check my accuracy.
HMMPH! The pear is too big. The pitcher is too narrow and the grapes are all over the place. What was I thinking??

Tomato Pitcher
"Tomato Pitcher": 7"x5"watercolor on 140#Arches.
I was hoping to post another watercolor featuring Selinsgrove PA, but I got side-tracked with this subject. I wanted to capture the tomato before it started to shrivel. Also, the stem shadow was calling to me. SO, I decided to tackle this as a warm-up. I got this done fairly quickly but now I am to going to the Campus Theatre to see the "Girl With the Dragon Tattoo."(Amer. version - I loved the Swedish version and may be disappointed, but what the heck.) Should be home in time for the Super Bowl.
(Tomorrow night - "The Birds", Hitchcock :) )

Keeping Busy
"Miss Kate" Oil on canvas, 4"x6"
Thought I would practice with a few faces.
"Wet Janie" Oil on canvas 4"x5"
I am struggling to get the water right below her chin. I may have to do a little more with this one.
The goggles need some adjustment also. :)
